1/2 cup butter, softened

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

2 cups mashed ripe bananas

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup chopped pecans

1/2 cup raisins

Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beat well. Add one egg at a time, beating well after each addition. Add bananas and mix until smooth. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; add to creamed mixture, stirring just enough to moisten. Stir in pecans and raisins. Pour butter into a greased and floured 9- x 5- x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour-1 hour 10 minutes. Remove and cool on wire rack. Makes 1 loaf.
